* We show an asterisk in a couple of places on this website after "Free Delivery over £3000 + VAT" because some postcodes attract surcharges (only where we are charged them by our carriers) so these postcodes are not free delivery. The checkout process calculates delivery charges/surcharges where applicable automatically.
We aim to deliver all orders within 5 days unless you specifically request a later delivery date.
We charge for delivery on orders up to £3,000 + VAT at a flat rate of £65 + VAT per order (plus a surcharge for Highlands and Islands).
For orders over £3000 + VAT, we have free delivery (irrespective of how many pallets are needed) unless you are in one of the Highlands and Islands zones in which case we charge a modest delivery surcharge (calculated in the check out).
The vast majority of orders are despatched on pallets and will be delivered to the kerbside. We will email you to tell you when your order has been despatched and that email will contain a link so that you can track your delivery.
You can request a specific delivery date when you place your order and we will do our very best to accommodate that date but cannot be held responsible if we do not meet it.
With regard to Returns, we are very confident that all plants despatched are high quality (human beings grade out the poorer quality plants and we throw those away) but once received by you they need to be planted well. We will consider refunds only if plants have been
- - stored properly before planting (see page on How to Store Plants)
- - planted in accordance with our planting guidance
- - and protect from rabbits/vermin by spiral guards supported by canes (except for conifers which are too big to fit into them)
However, even if you do all that it is likely that a small minority will not “take” due to planting too deep or planting too shallowly, a dry summer, or being trampled by foxes or any number of other factors outside of our control so we do not offer a guarantee as such but if you feel that you have done everything you can to start them off properly and have an unacceptably high failure rate, please do contact us with photographic evidence and your order number and we will consider what we can do to help.
It is extremely rare that anyone returns an order or part order to us so we do not have a set procedure for such an eventuality. Any issues regarding recently delivered plants must be reported to us within 48 hours of receipt and followed up within 7 days in writing (by email to enquiries@rjtreesandhedging.co.uk with photos or phone 01989 552028 and we'll discuss with you whether we're able to accept a return (depends how long you've had the plants for and how well they've been kept) and how we will collect. We do not return the delivery charge if one was charged. Please see our page on Checks to make on receipt of your order.
